Great streaming device
It's a upgrade of the already excellent 2nd Generation Fire Stick and it represents that Amazon have listened to users suggestions and reflects the increase in homes with 4K UHD TVs. So now it includes volume buttons and a power button to control your TV and supports 4K. Compared to how other companies implement setting up their remotes this one is a total breeze. To the extent it was so easy that I doubted it worked until I tried to raise and lower the volume and switch the TV off. Both worked flawlessly. I would say that to get the best out of the device you really need to be part of the Amazon universe. So having a Prime account with Amazon makes it an extremely useful addition for people who enjoy watching movies and TV series on the TV.
Very responsive nice upgrade
Top bit of kit very fast and responsive , redesigned remote you can now control the tv on off and volume plus it can be connected through the alexa app to your dot for voice control... very happy
Excellent Streaming media player
Amazon 4k stick is very fast and responsive.
Pros:
Remote Works with my letv65inc and jbl 5.1 without any issue.
UI is very simple and clean.
you can sideload apps and download from the store.
It shows punchy and good colour on my tv.
It has Bluetooth connectivity option for accessories.
It has firetv remote for android phones.
It has dual band wifi for better streaming.
Quality of video on prime is exceptional.
Amazon music works flawlessly.
Remote is very tactile and responsive.
Cons:
No screencast and Chromecast.
4k and atmos content are limited.
Alexa limited to Amazon content only.
Some users facing dim and dark videos due to there tv type. In my letv it is working fine but in my Vu tv videos are dim and muted. Personally, I don't think this is firetv stick issue.
I'm happy with the firetv stick. But they should include cast option via update it would be much better.
For the price, it is a good streaming stick.
Powerful than regular fire tv stick, good performance vs price
Its a lot of improvement than regular fire tv stick. Can stream and play in many other regular format. Of course it plays 4k seamlessly. Using with a projecter so cannot comment on HDR performance.
The remote helps with power and volume control for simple setup system - like a TV and soundbar.
Boot up speed is still slower than I would expect (compared with some other media players I used/saw)
Alexa integration is hardly used by me apart from movie and music search. Voice recognition is really good and so far never misspelled or misunderstood.
Number of App is limited in amazon app store but allows you to side load apk. Default apps like Netflix, Prime video, Amazon music and Hotstar is what I use and side loaded Kodi. For file and apk transfer there is a simple app I use and recommend - Send Files to TV (SFTTV).
Over all a good media player.
